Wave Surfing

San Salvador lies well off the beaten path in the deep ocean waters of the Atlantic. Since the island is situated easterly more than all the other islands of the Bahamas Archipelago, it is directly exposed to all North, South, East swell directions where you will find that the best surf conditions the Bahamas has to offer exist on this island.
Surf in San Salvador is most consistent during the fall and winter months from October to April. Swell typically come from winter storms that head eastward off the United States in to the Atlantic ocean which generate strong swells that push into the Caribbean. You can enjoy the awesome waves that wrap flawlessly around the colorful coral reefs breaking into crystal blue warm waters. Great surfing conditions are found along the west coast.
